Tennis is for anyone to play at any time and any place. LTA Youth introduces fun tennis activities with simple instructions for family members of any age. Some of these activities will require two tennis rackets and balls of any size. We have also included activities where you don't need any rackets and can be played in a small space e.g living room or kitchen area. Have fun!


FLOOR TENNIS


Equipment:

Two rackets, a ball of any size


Objectives:

To read the ball and react. Control the racket face and contact the ball out in front, Develop a cooperative rally.


TAP-UP TENNIS


Equipment:

One racket, a tennis ball of any size


Objectives:

Make contact with the ball with controlled racket face. Develop a cooperative rally. Get ready between hits


PIRATE CATCH


Equipment:

A ball of any size


Objectives:

Throw underarm with control of speed and direction. Read the flight and direction of the ball - bouncing, rising and falling. Catch the ball near the ideal contact point as it falls. Balancing on one foot when receiving and throwing the ball.


SWITCH CATCH


Equipment:

Two balls of any size


Objectives:

Coordination between two players. Get ready between catches. Read the flight of the ball - falling, bouncing and rising. Move to the ball near the ideal contact point as it falls. .


HIGH 5 RALLIES


Equipment:

Two rackets, a tennis ball of any sizes


Objectives:

Read the flight and direction of the ball - bouncing, rising and falling. Make contact with the ball with a controlled racket face. Catch the ball near the ideal contact point as it falls. Develop a cooperative rally. Get set between hits.
