Realisation can strike you at any time. It comes like a sudden epiphany when you're sitting home on a Summer afternoon watching slapstick comedy. It's interesting how in that one second when you look out of the window and see the breezy, sunny world right in front of you, you cannot help but wonder why you're sitting indoors and missing all the possibilities of adventure that lie outside.

I found myself enough reasons to take the decision of switching off the TV and not switching it back on for this season.

summer sport
  1. Because I haven't submerged myself into the deep yet

I am an introspective person, sometimes the noise around me can overwhelm me. When I see the ocean I want to submerge myself very deep and just let the world grow quiet.

On a beautiful summer day like this, the ideal place to be would be the beach with boardshorts, sunglasses and colourful flip flops in contemplation of a dive, daydreaming about the life that exists underwater.

cycling
  1. Because I haven't taken my cycle on an unknown trail yet

I read somewhere how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong but to feel strong, to measure yourself at least once.

I want to ride my mountain bike through the steep uphill trails and paths I've never been on. I want to experience the passion that exists in every pedal stroke that fights against a hill, and then the soaring feeling of flying. By being able to do things that you've never imagined yourself do brings a sense of strength both mentally and physically.

running
  1. Because I seek clarity from running

Sometimes I run because I seek clarity. I haven't found it yet maybe because of the adrenaline and endorphin flooding my brain or maybe because I am a beginner and lose my breath very often and then I give up.

I want to run very fast till I overcome my exhaust and enter a space of clarity. The kind of clarity that can only come from a pair of running shoes and early morning summer air!

climbing
  1. Because I haven't climbed the highest mountain yet

All through Winter, I repeated the words of Camus to myself, "In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer." Summer is here and now I feel the need to find an invincible mountain.

I'll start with taking a walk up the hills with a 10l backpack on my back and a water bottle inside it. With hiking sandals and the right apparel in which I can breathe in. There's always a start and I like the idea of something like this on a summer day.

skateboard
  1. Because I haven't ditched the cab to cruise through traffic on my skateboard

Last week I was sitting in my cab, stuck in massive traffic staring at signal lights when a boy cruised by in the sidewalk on a really nice looking waveboard. The expression on his face said, "ain't nobody got time for traffic!"

I own a skateboard but It hasn't really exited the four walls of my house yet. Now I understand that Indian roads aren't really cut out perfectly for waveboarding or even skateboarding but then where there's a will, there's a way. You will find a  road if you just look. It's however, important to have the right protectives.

Conclusion

I'm not sure if I'll be able to do all of these things at once but that's the direction my brain travels when I get stuck in reverie. It amazes me how this world is designed perfectly for us to play and practice all the sports. We just aren't making enough use of it.
