My journey began when I was 8 years old, at Mahesh Bhupathi Tennis Academy. My father was a passionate Tennis player, he introduced me to Tennis and motivated me to pursue it as a career.
Through the years, it was tricky to manage school, exams, and a tennis career. My school, Jain International Residential School was very supportive of my aspirations. The Chairman, Chenraj Jain, allowed me to stay at home during the academic year, to practice tennis all day and travel for tournaments till exam season began.
My first tournament was at Palace Grounds, Bangalore, where I made it to the finals in Under-12 category and lost to the girl who was ranked N0.1, then. It was a proud moment for my parents, my coach, and myself. This gave us hope to continue chasing the top rank.
My parents and I travelled around India participating in various tournaments to collect points to climb the ranking quickly. The highlight of my career was winning a Silver medal for Karnataka in the U19 category of 50th National School Games and receiving the medal from then Chief Minister, Dharam Singh. Another achievement was winning the U16 and U18 finals of the same tournament. I won both the titles at once, after which I moved to the USA to train at IMG Academy. I was coached by Nick Bollettieri, who has been a coach to players like Andre Agassi, Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams, and more. The peak of my career was playing in the USTA (United States Tennis Association) and ITF (International Tennis Federation) tournaments.
My role model is Maria Sharapova, because of the hardships she has overcome to be the champion she is today. From a young age, she has been a fighter in all circumstances, and I admire her inner strength. Meeting Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova, and Serena Williams has been one of my best memories of training in the USA.
– AITA (All India Tennis Association) was ranked in the Top #22 in U-14 All-India,
– 50th National School Games (Silver Medalist in U-19),
– USTA (United States Tennis Association),
– Orange Bowl(USA), Eddie Herr (USA),
– ITF (International Tennis Federation)
Artengo Apparel – Spreading Vibrancy in the Tennis Court
What I love about this set, is the bright colour combination.
I like how the colours stand out due to its vibrancy when I’m on the court. It’s also very convenient during a match because the fabric is designed to absorb sweat quickly. The elasticity of the material helps it take your body’s shape, keeping it firm on the skin.
The slit on the left side of the skirt along with the inner shorts provide appreciable ease of movement.
TR 990 – Here’s the “Lord of the Strings!”
I recommend this racquet for intensive players who require power and topspin in their shots.
It’s designed for spin and power with a good shock absorbing ability. The weight being 300 gms is an advantage to emphasize spin on your shots since it’s not too heavy on the arms. There are soft spots on the two sides of its head, to provide more feel to the player.
